Ground-Source Heat Exchange Engineering for Complex Projects
Independent geothermal engineering from the ground up.
ThermoLync provides specialized engineering and consulting services for ground-source heat exchange (GSHE) systems serving schools, municipalities, commercial buildings, and district energy projects.
We focus on the ground side of geothermal systems—from site feasibility, subsurface investigation, and test wells to borefield design, construction support, peer review, and commissioning.
Working with owners, architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and drilling professionals, ThermoLync helps project teams make informed decisions, reduce construction risk, and deliver reliable geothermal systems.
Where Geothermal Engineering Meets Subsurface Expertise
Geothermal projects are often limited not by the heat pump, but by what happens underground.
Ground conditions, drilling methods, groundwater, thermal properties, borehole construction, piping, and field installation can have a major impact on project cost, schedule, and long-term performance.
ThermoLync brings together geothermal engineering and extensive experience in geotechnical and underground engineering to address these challenges before they become costly problems.
Our Services
Feasibility & Due Diligence
Evaluate site conditions, geothermal potential, GSHE options, permitting considerations, and preliminary costs before major design decisions are made.
Test Wells & Thermal Conductivity Testing
Plan and manage test well programs to characterize subsurface conditions and obtain the thermal data needed for reliable borefield design.
GSHE / Borefield Design
Develop practical ground-source heat exchange designs based on building requirements, site conditions, thermal properties, constructability, and hydraulic performance.
Construction Support
Support owners and design teams during drilling and borefield construction, including submittals, RFIs, field observation, testing, and closeout.
Peer Review & Independent Inspection
Provide independent technical review of geothermal system designs, specifications, construction methods, and field installation.
Commissioning & Troubleshooting
Help verify system performance and investigate problems involving flow, pressure, temperatures, piping, controls, or ground-loop operation.
